Learn about virtual Global Summer Studios 2021 from the four 2021 course faculty, who will elaborate about each of their virtual studios, alongside the RISD Global team. Join us as we answer questions about each course and the application, payment, and scholarship processes.

These three-week art and design virtual global studio courses are led by RISD faculty and designed to broaden perspectives, de-center experiences and reframe assumptions by exploring the intersections of craft, art and design as they manifest around the world.

For summer 2021, RISD Global will offer four art and design courses, each inspired by a global destination:

• Virtual, Thailand | From Seed to Cloth: A Mindful Approach to Craft
• Virtual, Azores | Design with Nature
• Virtual, Denmark | Design Seminar + Workshop
• Virtual, Italy | Form, Leather, Color & Craft

All courses offer three RISD academic credits. Application is first-come, first-serve and will be open March 1 – April 18, 2021. Global Summer Studios are open to undergraduate and graduate students currently enrolled at RISD or in other art and design institutions worldwide, as well as recent graduates practicing in the field.
