RISD Global Work Study Opportunity Summer 2021

RISD Global is pleased to announce our call for applications for one work study position for a RISD student in Summer 2021. Remote position but must be physically based in Providence. Apply by Tues. June 8!

JOB DESCRIPTION:
As the RISD Global Department Assistant, you will assist the RISD Global team with various graphic design, media-focused projects and administrative tasks. This may include:

  • developing graphic work for our Wintersession Travel Course 2022 campaign, website, social media, and newsletter, etc.,
  • helping to support our virtual Global Summer Studie
  • s 2021 virtual courses by editing video, adding captions, and creating/uploading class materials or social media content,
  • collecting, editing & uploading photos and documents to the RISD Global website
  • editing pages + text on the RISD Global website,
  • collecting and posting content to our @risdglobal Instagram, and
  • general assistance with admin support by managing the global@risd.edu inbox and completing data entry tasks.
RISD Global is operating remotely at least until the end of summer 2021, so the majority of tasks will be completed virtually.

The position will require approximately 5 hours per week, mornings are preferable.

ELIGIBILITY:
Per Student Financial Services (SFS) guidelines, all work must be performed in the State of Rhode Island, so please only apply if you plan to be in Rhode Island for the summer months and throughout the work period.

Additionally, and per RISD SFS guidelines, this position can only be filled by students who have an active and signed I-9 with RISD, and an active US social security number.

In our selection process, RISD Global will give priority to juniors, seniors, and graduate students. Knowledge of, or participation in, our off-campus programs/partnered studies and interest in travel and global engagement is strongly preferred.

VIRTUAL WORK EXPECTATIONS FOR ROLE:
You must be comfortable interacting with peers and staff in a professional manner via email, phone, and Zoom. Our ideal candidate enjoys working in a remote, multitasking environment, possesses good communication skills, and has a strong knowledge of Google suite, Adobe Suite (particularly Photoshop and InDesign), MS Office (particularly Word and Excel).
