RISD Global is pleased to announce our call for applications for two work study positions for RISD students in academic year 20/21.
ELIGIBILITY:
Per Student Financial Services guidelines for Fall 2020, all work must be performed in the State of Rhode Island, so please apply only if you plan to be in Rhode Island for the academic year. Additionally, and per Student Financial Services guidelines for Fall 2020, this position can only be filled by students who have/will have in the coming weeks an active I-9 signed with RISD, and an active US social security number. In our selection process, RISD Global will give priority to juniors, seniors, and graduate students.
Please note: Knowledge of, or participation in, our off-campus global programs/partnered studios and interest in travel and global engagement is strongly preferred. You must be comfortable interacting with peers and staff in a professional manner via email, phone, and Zoom. Our ideal candidate enjoys working in a multitasking environment, possess good communication skills, and has a strong knowledge of Google suite, Adobe Suite (particularly Photoshop and InDesign), MS Office (particularly Word and Excel).

JOB DESCRIPTIONS:
RISD Global Admin Assistant
As the RISD Global Admin Assistant, you will assist the RISD Global team with various administrative tasks to keep our daily processes running smoothly. RISD Global will be operating remotely at least until the end of Fall 2020, so the majority of tasks will be developed virtually, while your presence on campus will be occasionally required. The position will require approximately 4 hours per week, mornings are preferable. Your main job responsibilities will include: helping to manage the global@risd.edu inbox; collecting, editing & uploading photos and documents to the RISD Global website; collecting and posting content to our @risdglobal Instagram; adding event information to our website and various RISD events listings; entering data into Google Sheets/Docs; informing students, faculty, and staff who inquire about RISD Global programs and how to find relevant information. In addition, on occasion you may be asked to contribute to graphic design projects for the department (social media images, print/digital event posters, advising materials, etc.), assist with program promotion at virtual events, and prepare and send digital mailings/newsletters. Other occasional duties that require physical presence on campus include putting up posters and leading campus tours for visitors, as needed.
RISD Global Design Assistant
As the RISD Global Design Assistant, you will assist the RISD Global team with the marketing and digital engagement outreach for RISD Global programs and events. RISD Global will be operating remotely at least until the end of Fall 2020, so the majority of tasks will be developed remotely, while your presence on campus will be required occasionally. The position will require approximately 7.5 hours per week, mornings are preferable. Your main job responsibilities for this position will include creating and implementing unique and exciting graphic design concepts for use in RISD Global promotional campaigns. Such projects may include: digital event posters; Instagram feed and stories posts; brief educational animated videos; newsletter and email banners/templates; PowerPoint presentation templates; print posters, fliers, stickers, and advising booklets. You will also be responsible for daily tasks that keep our office running smoothly, such as managing the global@risd.edu inbox, collecting, editing, and uploading photos and documents to the RISD Global website, adding event information to our website and various RISD events listings, collecting and posting content to our @risdglobal Instagram, data entry in Google Sheets/Docs, assisting with program promotion at virtual events, and informing students, faculty, and staff who inquire about RISD Global programs and how to find relevant information. Other occasional duties that require physical presence on campus include putting up posters and leading campus tours for visitors, as needed.
