Full English instruction
All education at the Royal Academy is initially in English, and communication is also in English. If the situation occurs that all of the students and teachers are Dutch-speaking, then the classes and the communication are held in Dutch.
All Bachelor's departments at KABK have a fixed study program, and as an exchange student you will take the same courses as their fully-enrolled students. For detailed descriptions of available departments and their study programs, see "Studies" section of the KABK Study Guide. You will be required to enroll in 30 ECTS, which is equivalent to 15 RISD Credits.
KABK utilizes the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) to award academic credit for coursework. For transfer to RISD, 2ECTS is equivalent to 1 RISD credit.
Note: Art Science only takes exchange students in Fall Semester. Interior Architecture and Furniture Design have places only in Fall Semester in Junior Year.
The entire application process will be completed using an online application portal. Apply the semester before you plan to attend.
