About NCAD

You may apply to only one NCAD Undergraduate Studies departments (juniors and seniors) and Postgraduate Studies departments (recommended only for seniors) as an exchange student. These include:

  • School of Fine Art: Print, Media, Painting, Sculpture & Expanded Practice, Textile Art & Artefact, Ceramics, Glass
  • School of Design: Product Design, Interaction Design, Graphic Design, Illustration, Moving Image, Jewellery & Objects, Fashion Design, Textile & Surface Design
    • Bureau+: Product / Interaction Design OR Graphic Design / Illustration / Moving Image Design
  • School of Visual Culture
  • School of Education - Spring only

Students applying to an Undergraduate Studies department are generally placed in year 2 (of the 3-year program). Learn more about the Program Modules which determine available courses.

Academic Credits

NCAD utilizes the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) to award academic credit for coursework. For transfer to RISD, 2ECTS is equivalent to 1 RISD credit.
