About this Travel Course

This travel course was designed around the participation in the OBJECT Rotterdam fair held during Art Rotterdam, in Holland. OBJECT Rotterdam represents the most current Developments in Dutch and international design from established and emerging designers working in the various disciplines of crafts, design, fashion, architecture, furniture, and art. The first four weeks of this course took place in studio on the RISD campus followed by two weeks of travel in Amsterdam and Rotterdam. At RISD, students developed and created a high-quality limited production line of work centric to their own practice. Through individual and collaborative efforts, students identified the exhibition theme, designed the exhibition display, produced promotional materials, installed and managed the booth during the Rotterdam fair.
