Researching the Korean Home
Constructing a program around understanding the history of dwelling in these well-structured places and from them abstract elements that could contribute to the design for the Modern Korean Home.
Peter Tagiuri, Professor of Architecture, received a GEforCD grant in the Fall of 2018 to help support experts from the Arumjigi organization in Seoul, South Korea. This collaboration was embedded as an Architecture studio during Spring 2019. With this grant and the related studio, Tagiuri expanded RISD’s networks of partners in South Korea and focused on growing connections within the craft and innovation sectors. As part of the semester-long studio course that emerged from the grant research, Tagiuri led a group of students on a global field trip during the spring break.
