RISD Global will present general information about the four virtual 2021 Global Summer Studios, as well as information on the application, payment, and scholarship processes.

These three-week art and design virtual global studio courses are led by RISD faculty and designed to broaden perspectives, de-center experiences and reframe assumptions by exploring the intersections of craft, art and design as they manifest around the world.

For summer 2021, RISD Global will offer four art and design courses, each inspired by a global destination:

• Virtual, Thailand | From Seed to Cloth: A Mindful Approach to Craft
• Virtual, Azores | Design with Nature
• Virtual, Denmark | Design Seminar + Workshop
• Virtual, Italy | Form, Leather, Color & Craft

All courses offer three RISD academic credits. Application is first-come, first-serve and will open March 1 – April 18, 2021. Global Summer Studios are open to undergraduate and graduate students currently enrolled at RISD or in other art and design institutions worldwide, as well as recent graduates practicing in the field.
