Additional Resources

Increased Testing Availability

Amid the threat of COVID-19 RISD strongly encourages community members to avoid large gatherings related to election outcomes and instead to participate in on-campus or virtual programming. However, should you choose to join off-campus gatherings that might occur, please review safety guidelines. In addition, RISD will offer open testing hours November 10–12 for community members who have participated in election-related gatherings. A communication with links to schedule an appointment will be sent later in the week.

Community Public Art Project

RISD students, faculty, staff and alumni are invited to lend their voices to Post-Vote, Now What?, a collective reflection on democracy, community, dialogue and where we go from here. Post-Vote, Now What? is both a storefront exhibition (at RISD’s Color Lab, 30 North Main St.) and an online publication (at v.1, RISD’s student-led publishing platform). Learn how to participate.

Election Coverage Screening Areas

Starting tomorrow at 9:00 am, election coverage will be screened at the RISD Auditorium. Capacity rules and social distancing protocol will be strongly enforced, but this drop-in space is available for community members to be together during tense and anxious moments as we await election results. Learn more.

Community Support Resources

If a student is in need of any kind of assistance, they may also contact RISD’s Office of Student Affairs (401-454-6600 or studaff@risd.edu) and/or Counseling and Psychological Services (401-454-6637 or counserv@risd.edu), which will have same-day access and group sessions for those who need to debrief around the election.
